Tasos Angelopoulos
PhD in theatre studies (School of Drama, AUTH) and theatre director. His other studies include theatre (BA and Integrated Master), sociology (MA) and law (BA). He also holds a professional diploma in puppetry (National Academy for Film and Theatre Arts, Krastyo Sarafov, Sofia, Bulgaria).
He has worked as teaching fellow at the School of Drama, AUTH (2014-23) and at the Department of Early Childhood Education, International University (2017). He was guest tutor at the MA of Applied Theatre MA, Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia. He has conducted several workshops and seminars, and he has participated in research projects in Greece and abroad.
He is the author of several scientific articles published in Greek and international journals. His books (in Greek): Playing Theatre (2016), Playing Theatre with History (2018), Theatre and Politics: The National Theatre of Thessaloniki during the Occupation (2021), Theatre and Society: The Contribution of Intellectual Thessaloniki at the NTNG’s Establishment (2022), and The Theatre of the Left were published by Sofia Publishing House. His book (in Serbian): Pozorišne i umetničke aktivnosti političkih izbeglica iz Grčke u Istočnoj Evropi 1945-1956 (Greek Political Refugees’ Theatrical and Artistical Activities in Eastern Europe 1945-1956) was published by the Theatre Museum of Vojvodina, Serbia.
He has directed more than 30 performances with Papalangki Theatre Company, and he has cooperated with NTNG and the Experimental Stage of “Techni” in Thessaloniki, the Municipal Theatres of Ioannina and Serres, and Porta Theatre in Athens. His theatrical plays have won awards and are performed in Greece and Cyprus.
His research interests include: the relation between theatre, society and politics, applied theatre, forms of post dramatic theatre, and acting and directing education in Greece and abroad.

Anestis Azas
Anestis Azas works as a theatre director in Greece and in the German-speaking world. His works includes classical texts, contemporary playwrights, original documentary plays and devised. He has collaborated among others with Athens Epidaurus Festival, Onassis Foundation, National Theatre of Greece, National Theatre of Northern Greece, Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, Kammerspiele München Theater. As a director he has presented performances in many international festivals. From 2015 to 2019, Anestis Azas and Prodromos Tsinikoris were the artistic directors of the Experimental Stage -1 of the National Theatre of Greece.

Io Voulgaraki
She was born in Athens in 1985. She studied Greek literature at the University of Athens and acting at the Drama School of the National Theatre of Greece. She graduated with honors from the Russian Institute of Theater Arts (GITIS) in Moscow at Leonid Heifetz’s class (2008-13).
Since 2013 she has worked with the National Theatre, the National Theatre of Northern Greece, the Onassis Foundation, the Athens Epidaurus Festival, the National Opera, etc. Abroad she has worked with the Academic Youth Theatre RAMT (Moscow) and the Grotowski Institute (Wroclaw). In 2013 she directed Alexandros Papadiamantis’ Nostalgia for the Russian state radio Kultura. In 2017-18 she taught an original program on Homer’s Odyssey in the educational programs of the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation. In 2020-21 she directed the sound series Readings at the SNFCC.
She teaches acting at the Drama School of the Athens Conservatoire and directing at the Drama School of the National Theatre. She is a founding member of the group PYR, which has been active in Greek theatre since 2013.

Charalampos Gogiós
He studied music theory with composers Filippos Tsalachouris and Dimitris Lionis. He graduated from the Department of Music Studies of the Kapodistrian University of Athens.
As a composer and conductor he has collaborated with many institutions (Greek National Opera, Athens Epidaurus Festival, Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls, National Theatre of Greece, Greek Art Theatre Karolos Koun, Municipal Theatre of Piraeus, Onassis Foundation, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, BIOS, Neos Kosmos Theatre, Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, Orchestra of Colors, Hellenic Group of Contemporary Music, dissonArt ensemble, ARTéfacts ensemble, CHÓRES female choral ensemble, Documenta, Art Athina, Neuköllner Oper Berlin etc.) and important personalities of music, theatre, literature and visual arts.
His music has won awards in Greece, the UK and the Czech Republic. His music for Sophocles’ Antigone (National Theatre of Greece, 2016) was awarded in the Cyprus Theatre Awards. He is a co-founder of the independent Athens music theatre company “The Beggars’ Operas”, with which he has appeared in Greece and abroad.
From 2013 to 2015 he was head of studies of the Music Theatre Workshop of the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Patras. He is artistic associate of Dramaturgy and Publications for the Greek National Opera Alternative Stage and general director of the CHÓRES female choral ensemble.

Christos Dimas
He was born in Eleusis. He studied political sciences at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He attended seminars on cinema in Finland and Amsterdam. He worked as an assistant director in San Francisco.
In 1995 he wrote and directed his first short film A Sky Full of Stars, followed by the short films Tender (1997), Breath (1998), Amerikanos (2000). The latter received awards at the Drama International Short Film Festival and won the 1st National Short Film Award. In 2001 he directed the feature film The Cistern (Akrovates Tou Kipou), followed by the films The Island – Nisos (2009), Poker Face (2012), Akalyptos (2013), Amore Mio (2015), Magic Mirror (2016) and Journey to the Stars – Taxidi Sta Asteria (2021).
He has worked as a director and screenwriter in television productions: Kokkinos Kyklos, Dekati Entoli, Tritos Nomos, To Kleidi Tou Paradeisou, Dyo Meres Mono, Beta Queen, Bampalou, To Daxtylidi Tis Fotias, Ou Foneuseis, O Prigkipas Tis Fotias, Neoklasika.
He has directed the theatre performances: Night, Mother (Argo, 2002), Disobedience (Athens Conservatoire Drama School, 2003), Athanasia (Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, 2012 – Theatre Kefallinias, 2018), The Fourposter (Cyprus Tour, 2018), I Am (Roes, 2018), En Elefsini (2018). He has collaborated with directors Dimitris Mavrikios, Stathis Livathinos, Dimitris Tarlow, Takis Tzamargias, Roula Pateraki, Sylvia Liouliou, Laertis Vasileiou, Marianna Toli, et al. For the last four years he has been directing the commercials for the National Theatre of Greece.
He has directed music videos for artists such as A. Remos, G. Ploutarhos, P. Terzis, G. Ntalaras, G. Vardis, Marinella, G. Kotsiras and others. He published the books Veroniki (1993, Axyronas), The Cistern – Akrovates tou Kipou (1998, Kastaniotis) and Breath (2008, Polychromos Planitis).
He teaches at the Drama School of the National Theatre and Veaki.

Thanasis Dimou
He graduated from the Department of Theatre Studies of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2000) and the Drama School of The Greek Art Theatre Karolos Koun (2001). He has collaborated with the National Theatre of Greece, the Greek Art Theatre Karolos Koun, the National Theatre of Northern Greece, the Megaron Athens Concert Hall, the Cyprus Theatre Organization, the Athens Epidaurus Festival, the Greek National Opera, the Piraeus and Patras Municipal theatres and also with the theatres Amore, Porta, Kefallinias, Akropol, Kivotos and others.
He worked with the directors: Μ. Kougioumtzis, S.A. Evangelatos, V. Papavasileiou, Th. Moschopoulos, N. Hatzopoulos, G. Chouvardas, G. Kakleas, St. Livathinos, Th. Gkonis, G. Moschos, G. Koutlis, G. Fokas Evangelinos
He was born in Neochori, Messolonghi. He graduated from the State School of Orchestral Art in 1989.
From 1991 until today he has choreographed and directed theatrical performances and musicals for the National Theatre, the Athens Epidaurus Festival, the National Opera, the National Theatre of Northern Greece, municipal theatres, television shows and music awards. As a choreographer, he earned the “Koula Pratsika” dance award from the Hellenic Theatre Study & Research Center (2005). In 1996 he created his own school of dance, which is a recognized member of ISTD.
Since 2004, he has participated many times in the Eurovision contest as a director – choreographer with artists from Greece and abroad, contributing to the winning of the 1st place for the Greek participation and in general to the excellent results of the schemes he collaborated with.
As a creative director, he organized the semi-final and final for the Eurovision Song Contest Athens 2006 competition, came up with and implemented the opening and closing ceremonies of the Special Olympics (Athens 2011, Kallimarmaro Stadium), the tour and flame ceremony for the Winter World Games (Korea 2013) and the European Games Antwerp 2014. He directed the revival of the first modern Olympic Games and the Authentic Marathon Flame Ceremony at the Marathon Tomb For the National Olympic Academy.
He collaborated with the greatest chess player of the 20th century, Garry Kasparov, directing a live chess game reenactment titled Dancing on the Chessboard at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. He also directed the great composer Desmond Child in the Desmond Child Rocks the Parthenon concert (Odeon of Herodes Atticus).
From 2002 until today he is a professor at the Drama School of the National Theatre.

Christina Thanasoula
She was born in Thessaloniki in 1978. She is a graduate of the Department of Theatre Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a Master of Arts in advanced theatre practice, specializing in lighting design, from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London (London, UK).
She is a Europe based freelance lighting designer, writer and educator and is currently working on her PhD thesis on lighting design under the title: Lighting Design Transformations on the Contemporary Theatre Stage: Theory, Practice and Education. She has designed lighting for over 270 opera, theatre and dance performances, site-specific projects and events. She has collaborated with the National Theatre of Greece, the Onassis Foundation, the Athens Epidaurus Festival, the National Opera, the Athens Concert Hall and the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, municipal regional theatres as well as with many independent theatre and dance groups.
She is the author of the professional profile and the educational material for the specialty of Technical Lighting of live audiovisual events (commissioned by INE/GSEE), as well as the monograph Lighting Design: Painting on Stage in Four Dimensions (independent publication, Athens: 2021).
Thaleia Istikopoulou
She was born in Athens, to a family from Asia Minor. After finishing her secondary studies at Saint Joseph High School in Athens, she moved to Italy to study architecture in Milan Polytechnic. She began working as an architect before graduating from her studies in theatre at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano Drama School. She co-founded Teatro dell’Elfo di Milano, of which she remained a basic member for twenty-five years.
She has designed sets and costumes for more than 150 productions of classic and modern plays, dance performances, operas and events (among which, Mediterraneo, directed by G. Salvatores – Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film).
She works in Greece since 1985. She collaborated with Nea Skini Lefteris Vogiatzis, Patras Festival, Morphes, National Theatre of Greece, Theatro tou Notou, the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron), Greek Art Theatre Karolos Koun, National Theatre of Northern Greece, Onassis Foundation, Athens Epidaurus Festival, et al.
She has designed the surroundings for commercial, artistic and cultural events in Italy, the USA and Greece (exhibition for the 100th anniversary of the birth of the poet Giorgos Seferis – Min. Culture 2000 – Athens, Smyrna and Frankfurt). She taught stage design in Milan Polytechnic and in University of Thessaly (Volos). She teaches scenography at the Drama School of the National Theatre.
Grigorios Ioannidis
He is an associate professor at the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of Athens. He is also a graduate of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, a graduate of the Department of Theatre Studies of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with a Master’s degree in Philosophy of Science (King’s College, London) and Theatre Studies. He also holds a PhD from the Department of Theatre Studies with a thesis on foreign repertoire and its contribution to the formation of modern Greek theatre.
His interests include, among others, modern and contemporary Greek drama, foreign repertoire, creative writing, the use of new technologies in theatre. He has collaborated as a consultant with all theatre institutions in Greece and has repeatedly taught in theatre seminars, workshops and at the Drama School of the National Theatre. He has collaborated in the curation and organization of central exhibitions about theatre and its history. He is the author of monographs on Greek and foreign repertoire of the Greek theatre with a significant number of publications in scientific journals. As a theatre reviewer, he has collaborated with “Anti” and “Eleftherotypia”, while from 2011 until now he writes the review column in the “Efimerida ton Syntakton” (Newspaper of the Editors).
Dio Kaggelari
Theatrologist, former assistant professor at the Department of Theatre of the School of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. A graduate of the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of Paris III – New Sorbonne. She completed her doctoral thesis at the Philology Department of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, on the topic “Greek Stage and the Theatre of History, 1936-1944: The Institutions and the Forms” (2003).
Her research interests include: the terms of the modern in theatre, the dialogue between Greek and European stage, the stage interpretation of ancient drama, the theatre for children and adolescents. She has published studies in Greece and France and has edited theatre publications. She has also regularly participated in presentations at theatrology conferences and in European transnational projects, research groups and forums.
She has been an artistic programming consultant at the Athens Epidaurus Festival (2006-15), scientific director of the workshop on ancient drama “Summer Oracle” (2018, 2019). She is a theatre critic, dramaturgy consultant, exhibition curator, and presenter of a TV series on contemporary theatre (Theorium) and of theatrical radio broadcasts. Her activities also include curation of stage design, public speeches and interviews.
She has published theatre reviews, pamphlets, articles, interviews, book reviews, tributes and critical assessment in various newspapers such as Epochi, Ethnos, Avgi (“Enthemata”), Kathimerini (“Seven Days”), Eleftherotypia (“Library”), Imerissia, Ta Nea, and in the magazines O Politis, Anti, Nea Estia, The Books’ Journal.
She is a founding member of the Hellenic Theatre Centre for Children and Young People (an affiliate of ASSITEJ) and the Hellenic Union of Theatre and Performing Arts Critics. She has participated in advisory committees of the Ministry of Culture. She is a member of the jury of the Melina Merkouri Theatrical Prize and of the ‘Europe Prize Theatrical Realities’ award.
From September 2019, she was appointed director of studies at the Drama School of the National Theatre of Greece.
Alexandra Kazazou
She was born in Wroclaw, Poland in 1982. She holds a Bachelor Degree from the Drama School of the Aristotle University and a MA in Acting (Manchester Metropolitan University). From 2010 to 2016 she collaborated closely with the Grotowski Institute in Poland. In Greece she works as an actress, director and educator. As an actress she has collaborated with important directors, choreographers and composers, such as Michail Marmarinos, Giannis Mantafounis, Io Voulgaraki, Giannis Leontaris, Petros Sevastikoglou, Philippos Tsalachouris et al.
She is a founding member and director of the theatre group Teatr Andra based in Istanbul. The group consists of Greek, Turkish and Polish artists. She was nominated for the Theatre Award Eleftheria Sapountzis (2017) and for the Theatre Award Melina Merkouri (2018).
She has taught at the Drama School of the National Theatre of Northern Greece (2018-19), at the Drama School of the National Theatre (2016-17), the Drama School of Greek Theatre Delos (2016-22), the Drama School of the Athens Conservatoire and the Academy of Arts 100 (2022-23). She has delivered several seminars at the Grotowski Institute as a member of Studio Matejka Physical Theater Group (2010-15) and has also taught as a professor in residency at the universities St. Lawrence in New York (2014) and Gonzaga in Washington (2015). She has delivered seminars for the CalArts Institute at Los Angeles, California (2018).
In 2020 along with the photographer Karol Jarek she has founded the Transatlantic Group that maintains artistic, educational, investigative and social activity.
Simos Kakalas
He was born in Thessaloniki. He graduated from the National Theatre of Northern Greece’s (NTNG) Drama School.
He was a founding member of the theatre organization Nees Morfes (New Forms) in 1996, where he worked mainly as an actor in performances directed by Giannis Paraskevopoulos. The research nature of the group and the physical direction defined his later work.
From 2000 to 2004 he worked at the National Theatre of Northern Greece as an actor and assistant director. In 2003 he founded and directed the Choros Theatre Company; through this company he researched and directed his main projects until 2017. He advocated for a physical and “poor” theatre, one that highlights poetic language and interaction. Working with masks, puppets, video projections and live music, he is in constant research of narratives and techniques. At the same time, he works as an actor.
Since 2017 he works as a freelance stage director and has collaborated amongst other theatres with the National Theatre of Northern Greece, the National Theatre of Greece, The Athens Epidaurus Festival, the Onassis Foundation, the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus and the National Opera of Greece.
His work has been presented in festivals such as Dialog Festival (Wroclaw, Poland), 40th Tampereen Teatterikesa (Finland), 43rd Kontrapunkt International Festival (Poland), Sibiu International Theatre Festival (Romania), Heidelbergerstuckemarkt (Germany), Athens Epidaurus Festival (Greece), New Greek Wave (Bremen, Germany), Europe Speaks Out! (Staatsschauspiel Stuttgart, Germany), and the Festival of UTE.
As an acting coach since 1995 he has taught in numerous schools and has organized workshops all over Greece.
Panagiota Kallimani
She was born in Aeghion. She started dance lessons at the school of Olga Maranti and continued her studies in Paris and at the Centre de Dance International de Rosella Hightower in Cannes. In 1996 she completed her studies at the Centre National de Danse Contemporaine d’Angers with the well-known choreographers Joëlle Bouvier and Régis Obadia as artistic directors. She collaborated with them in the productions Les Chiens, Fureur, De l’Amour and L’oiseau Loup. Since 2002 she has collaborated with the dance groups Experience Harmaat, Topo (2002), Carlotta Ikeda, Togue (2003), Kubilai Khan Investigations, Sorrow Love Song (2004-05), Nasser Martin Gousset, Peplum and Comedy (2006-07). Since 2006 she has collaborated with Josef Nadj on Poussière de soleils, Asobu and Cherry Brandy.
In 2009 she co-created the dance group The Plant Collective and presented the performances Trente (2009) and Double Take (2011) at Athens Epidaurus Festival. Since 2014, she has been working exclusively on her own choreographies: Contreplongées (Onassis Foundation, 2014), Mam Mam Un Diner Magique (Onassis Foundation, 2016), Arrêt Sur Image (MIR Festival, 2016), Allez viens… (National Theatre of Greece, 2019). She choreographed the performance Matchbox: The Musical – A war Between Four Walls (Onassis Cultural Centre, 2022). She presented the dance performance Voices at the Old Archaeological Museum of Chania (2022).
Her works have been presented in Greece and abroad. At the same time, she teaches dance classes and seminars at Center Choregraphique d’Angers, Center Choregraphique d’Orleans, Center Choregraphique de Nantes etc.
Alexia Kaltsiki
She was born in Athens and graduated with honors from the Drama School of the National Theatre. She has collaborated with the directors Lefteris Vogiatzis, Giannis Chouvardas, Thomas Moschopoulos, Dimitris Karantzas, Thanos Papakonstantinou, Dimitris Tarlow, Katerina Evangelatou, Aris Retsos, Thymios Karakatsanis, Periklis Choursoglou, Efi Theodorou, Konstantinos Rigos, Giannis Iordanidis, Lilly Meleme, Elena Karakouli, Giorgos Skevas and others. She has also worked with Anatolie Vasiliev, Dimiter Gotscheff, and Anton Houan in plays written by Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Aristophanes, William Shakespeare, Henrik Ibsen, Anton Chekhov, Marina Tsvetaeva, Yasunari Kawabata, Sarah Kane, John Osborne, Harold Pinter, Ivan Vyrypaev, Dimitris Dimitriadis, Michel Fais, Giannis Mavritsakis et al.
She directed the performance I’m Left-handed Essentially for Manolis Anagnostakis (Philippi-Thassos Festival 2012 & Theseum Theatre) and The Bench of Any by Michel Fais (Theatre 104, 2014).
She has starred in feature films Delivery (official participation in the 61th Venice Film Festival, 2004), Ta Oporofora tis Athinas, Athens – Istanbul, Daughter of Rembrandt by Nikos Panagiotopoulos, Quiet Hours by Katerina Evangelakou, Signature by Stelios Charalampopoulos, Norway (Karlovy Vary Film Festival, 2014) by Giannis Veslemes, Interruption by Giorgos Zois (72th Venice Film Festival).
She has worked in short films directed by Syllas Tzoumerkas, Ektor Lygizos, Panagiotis Fafoutis, Bujar Alimani and Georgis Grigorakis.
She participated in the television series Two Days Only by Christoforos Papakaliatis.
Akyllas Karazisis
In 1985 he started working as an actor at the State Theater of Heidelberg (Städtische Bühne Heidelberg) until 1990. He also worked in Zurich at the Winkelwiese Theater (1990-91). In the summer of 1991 he returned to Greece and collaborated with the newly founded Theatre of Notos (Amore) and the theatre group Diplous Eros (Theseum Theatre). As an actor he has also collaborated with the theatres: Theatre of Notos, Diplous Eros/Theseum, National Theatre of Greece, National Theatre of Northern Greece, Lamia Theatre, Theatrical Organization Estia, Michani Theatre Company, Mahagoni, Stadtteater Jena, Stadttheater Magdeburg, La Mama Theatre of New York, Schaubühne Berlin/Milo Rau, Vasistas, Städtische Bühne Heidelberg, Theater an der Winkelwiese.
He has collaborated with directors: G. Chouvardas, M. Marmarinos, L. Vogiatzis, V. Papavasileiou, K. Evangellatou, St. Ntoufexis, Arg. Chioti, N. Hatzopoulos, V. Arditis, R. Pateraki, Th. Moschopoulos, Milo Rau, Karin Henkel, Heiner Goebbels, Albrecht Hirche, Marc von Henning. Since 2006 he has been directing, co-directing and (more rarely) writing plays.
He has directed performances at the National Theatre of Greece, Athens Epidaurus Festival, Theatre Theseum, Theatre Porta, Bios, Onassis Foundation, as well as since 2015 at Landestheater Tübingen (LTT) and Landesbühne Tühringen (Altenburg-Gera) in Germany.
As an actor he collaborated with the Schaubühne and Milo Rau in the production Empire. The performance was played for five years in major festivals across Europe.
He has also directed a comic opera (Mikado, Alternative Stage of Greek National Opera), a musical (Once), a music performance (Kolokotronis looks at the future, co-directed with M. Marmarinos).
He teaches at the Drama Schools of the Athens Conservatoire and the Drama School of the National Theatre. He has acted for cinema and television.
Dionysis Kapsalis
He was born in Athens. He studied literature in the United States and London. He has published poetry books, volumes of essays, and poetry translations as well as several studies, articles, and reviews in magazines and newspapers.
He has also translated Samuel Beckett’s Happy Days and Shakespeare’s plays Romeo and Juliet, King Lear, Othello, Pericles, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet, The Comedy of Errors, and Macbeth.
He has closely collaborated with composer Nikos Xydakis, writing the lyrics, among others, for Laments of Women: Sophocles’ Heroines (2006), Rue Lepsius: A Musical Portrait of C.P. Cavafy (2008), Apokopos or Spinalonga (2018), and the musical/poetic work Martha: A Story from Missolonghi (Greek National Opera, 2021).
He has worked at the National Bank of Greece Cultural Foundation (MIET) where he served as director from 1999 to 2021. Since 2007 he has been teaching literature at the Drama School of the National Theatre of Greece. In 2015 he was proclaimed Honorary Doctor of Philosophy by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and was awarded with the State Award in Literary Translation for his translation of Hamlet. In 2017 he received the Great Award of Letters for his oeuvre and the State Poetry Award for his Notes on the Music of the World (2021).
Chara Kefala
She studied musical theatre at the ArtsEd School of Performing Arts and Urdang Academy in London. She holds a degree in singing, a diploma in piano, a diploma in conservatory, and a classical dance teacher’s degree.
She has starred in performances at the National Theatre of Greece and she has collaborated with important theatre directors. As a soloist she has collaborated with orchestras in Greece and abroad (KOA, KOTH, National Symphony Orchestra of ERT, Orchestra of Colors, Jyväskylä Symphony, Beijing Opera Symphony Orchestra, Athens Big Band, Thessaloniki Concert Hall, GNO, Beijing Concert Hall, etc.).
She has recorded works by Dimitris Papadimitriou, Nikos Mamagkakis, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Eugenia Manolidou and others. In 2008 she released her first solo album entitled A Joy… in the Foyer. She has starred in many TV series (Mega, Alpha, ERT, Ant1).
She teaches at the Drama School of the National Theatre (2007-08, 2010-15, 2022-23). She also collaborated with the drama schools: New Greek Theatre of Giorgos Armenis (2018-22), Iasmos (2017-18), Piraeus Association (2016-17). She also taught at the post-educational seminar at the National Conservatoire of Athens (2022, 2023).
Maria Kechagioglou
She was born in Didymoteicho. She graduated from the Department of Philosophy of the Ioannina University and the Drama School of the National Theatre.

In 2008 she was awarded the “Marika Kotopouli” prize. Since 2007 she has been teaching acting at the Drama School of the National Theatre.
Katerina Kozadinou
She was born in Katowice (Poland) and grew up in Athens. She studied jazz singing (BMus) at Codarts (Rotterdam) and Speech Therapy at Aegean College (Bsc). She deepened her knowledge in voice teaching and technique by obtaining the title of Estill Master Trainer (first Greek woman certified in teaching the Estill Voice Model).
As a voice teacher and vocal coach, she has worked in advertising, theatre and television as well as in educational organizations in Greece and the Netherlands. As a singer, she has performed with her own groups in various festivals and music scenes in Benelux (Jazz International a Liege, SPS Jazz Festival, Northsea Roundtown, North Sea Jazz Festival, Breda Jazz Festival, Lantaren Venster, Bird), while at the same time she has worked as a freelance vocalist for various live and studio projects. In May of 2022 she released the first album of her songwriting project, Kit Kido.
She is a professor of contemporary singing at Deree – American College of Greece, professor of speech therapy at the Drama School of the National Theatre and professor of singing at the Drama School of Aegean College.
Giorgos Koutlis
He was born in Athens in 1989. He graduated from the acting department of Athens Conservatoire Drama School and the Law department of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He studied stage directing at Russian University of Theatre Arts GITIS (master Y. Kamenkovich – D. Krymov) and he holds a master degree in stage directing with distinction from the same university (2019). He speaks English, Russian and French.
He has directed: Strella composed by Michalis Paraskakis based on the film by P.X. Koutras (Greek National Opera – Alternative Stage), The Man from Podolsk by Dmitry Danilov which was first performed in Greece in his own translation (National Theatre of Greece – stage Nikos Kourkoulos), The Dog, the Night and the Knife by Marius von Mayenburg (Piraeus 260 – Athens Epidaurus Festival), The Dream of a Ridiculous Man by F.M. Dostoevsky in his own translation and adaptation (cooperation with Municipal Regional Theatre of Crete – tour in Crete – Poreia Theatre), Talk Show by Suyako (Athinais and Apothiki Theatre), Playing the Victim by the Presniakov brothers which was staged for the first time in Greece in his own translation (National Theatre of Greece – Stage Katina Paxinou), The Government Inspector from Petersburg (a diplomatic performance based on the play by N.V. Gogol the Government Inspector GITIS/Moscow).
In 2022-23 he was the artistic director of the Experimental Stage of Young Creators “Katina Paxinou“ of the National Theatre of Greece.
He teaches acting at the Athens Conservatoire Drama School and directing at the Drama School of the National Theatre of Greece.
Erie Kyrgia
She graduated from the Department of Theatre Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Antonis Papadakis scholarship). She holds a master’s degree in Theatre Studies (University of Athens) and Music Studies (Ionian University, EPEAEK scholarship, graduated with distinction).
Since 1997 she has been working in various roles (dramaturg, creative consultant, curator, assistant director, production manager, literary manager, project manager, translator). She has collaborated with the National Theatre of Greece, the Greek National Opera, the Athens Epidaurus Festival, the Cyprus Theatre Organization, the Onassis Foundation, the Greek Art Theatre Karolos Koun, the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus, Poreia Theatre, etc. She has worked with directors such as K. Bogomolov, O. Korsunovas, K. Evangelatos, G. Chouvardas, M. Marmarinos, C. Graužinis, D. Tarlow, St. Livathinos, D. Karantzas and choreographers A. Foniadakis, G. Mantafounis, K. Rigos, et al.
Being a polyglot translator, she has translated plays by A. Chekhov, Η. Ibsen, Α. Strindberg, J. Fosse, S. Beckett, H. Pinter, N. Coward, D. Hare, A. Ostermaier, R. Schimmelpfennig, S. Stephens, Th. Bernhard, etc. She has written librettos for operas which have been presented by the Greek National Opera and The Medium opera group Project.
She has worked in the direction team of the opening, closing and medal ceremonies of the Athens Olympics 2004. She was responsible of the Office of artistic director of the National Theatre of Greece (G. Chouvardas 2007-13, St. Livathinos, 2015-16). She was a member of the Committee for the State Playwriting Awards (2017, 2018). She was deputy artistic director of the National Theatre of Greece (September 2019 – February 2021) and artistic director of the National Theatre of Greece (February 2021 – December 2021).
Rinio Kyriazi
Rinio Kyriazi was born in Ioannina, Greece. She has graduated from the National Theatre of Greece and the Department of Early Childhood Education of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has studied Mirka Gementzakis’ voice method, Kristin Linklater’s “freeing the natural voice” method at Columbia University of New York, and Roy Hart’s method (with Jonathan Hart) at the New York University and the Roy Hart Centre.
She has directed the performances: Sappho Katasteromeni, Antigone Meteori, Among the Ruins of the Free Besieged, Bacchae, The Body Without Body, Between Faliro and Korydallos, The Butterfly’s Evil Spell, Promethea Day or Night, and the radio theatre performances The Free Besieged, O Lambros.
She was a vocal teacher and created sound – musical landscapes for the plays: Aeschylus’ The Persians (Dimiter Gotscheff), Euripides’ Bacchae (Ektoras Lygizos), Sophocles’ Electra (Dimitris Xanthopoulos), Aeschylus’ Prometheus Bound (Vasilis Mavrogeorgiou), Digenis Akritas on the Edge (Sofia Karagianni) etc.
She teaches speech and acting at the School of Drama of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, at the Athens Conservatoire, at the National Theatre of Greece, at the Arhi Drama School of Nelli Karra, at the Lyceum of Epidaurus, at the Summer Oracle of Dodoni etc.
Kyriazi is the author of the play Ursa Major (published by Rodakio Editions). She has also translated Alexandra Badea’s play Extremophile in Greek.
As a theatrical actress she has worked with Dimiter Gotscheff, Lefteris Vogiatzis, Anna Kokkinou, Giannis Chouvardas, Thodoris Gonis, Nikos Flessas, Victoras Ardittis, Elisabeth Marie, Aspa Tompouli, Sofia Karagianni, Chiara Quidi, Avra Sidiropoulou, Nikos Kamontos, Dimitris Mpitos, Orestis Tatsis, Nikos Chatzipapas, Anna Synodinou, and Dionysis Savvopoulos. In cinema she has collaborated with Tonis Lykouresis, Sylvia Maghoni-Gream Thomson, Stelios Charalampopoulos, Stavros Psyllakis, Konstantinos Kakogiannis, Efthymis Kosemund Sanidis.
In 2007, she created the performance Fevgousa Kori (directed by Mirka Gementzaki) and she was nominated for the Melina Merkouri Αward for her performance.
Ioannis M. Konstantakos
He studied Greek philology at universities of Athens and Cambridge. Since 2003 he teaches Ancient Greek Literature at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he is now a primary professor. He was tutor professor at the University of Milan and at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
His scholarly interests include ancient Greek and Roman comedy, ancient historiography, ancient fiction and mythology, folktales and popular narrative lore, riddles in the ancient world, oriental literatures, the influence of the Near East and Egypt on Greek culture, as well as the reception of classical texts in West and East. He has published many studies on these topics.
In 2009, his two-volume study Akicharos: The Tale of Ahiqar in Ancient Greece (Athens 2008) was awarded the prize of the Academy of Athens for the best monograph in classical philology. In 2012, his book Legends and Fairy Tales about the Land of Gold: Archaeology of a Folktale Motif (Athens 2011) was shortlisted for the Greek state prize for critical essay. He recently published the small monograph War, Nekyia, Quest: Seferis and the Archetypical Myths of Hellenism (Benaki Museum, Athens 2021).
He has been director of the postgraduate program in Classical Cultures at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2018-22), member of the international committee of postgraduate studies of the University of Bologna (since 2019), member of the scholarly committee of the Hellenic Open University Publications (since 2020), a collaborator of the Greek State Scholarships Foundation and the Onassis Foundation, and a founding member of the scholarly journal Logeion: A Journal of Ancient Theatre.
Panagiota Konstantinakou
She is a theatrologist and dramaturg. She holds a PhD in theatre studies from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greek State Scholarships Foundation). She also holds a BA in theatre studies (School of Drama, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), a Diploma in drama from the University of Kent at Canterbury and an MPhil (Research) from the University of Glasgow. Additionally, she holds an MA in “Information and Communication Technologies in Education” (Intra-University Postgraduate Course, partnership of the Faculty of Early Childhood Education and the Faculty of Communication and Mass Media Studies, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Department of Architecture, University of Thessaly and the Department of Electronics Engineering, University of West Attica).
As a dramaturg she has collaborated with Athens Epidaurus Festival, Onassis Foundation, National Theatre of Greece, Municipal Regional Theatre of Serres, Municipal Regional Theatre of Kozani, Youth Festival, as well as the theatres: Apo Michanis, Amore, Embros, Epi Kolono, Kefallinias, Chora, Porta, Kamiros, Theseum, Studio Mavromichali, BIOS, KET, Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, Municipal Theatre Kefalos. She has collaborated with the theatre groups Grasshopper, Spectrum, Papalangki, Blindspot, the Operas of the Beggars and Active Art (Drosa Techni).
She specializes on classic plays, literary adaptations, youth theatre, documentary theatre and site-specific performance. Her research interests include: theory and practice of dramaturgy, history and theory of scenography and theatre architecture, the aesthetics and ideology of space, theatre and the moving image.
She is a faculty member at the School of Drama, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has also taught at the Department of Theatre Studies, University of Patras (2017-19).
Michail Marmarinos
He was born in Athens and studied neurobiology, theatre, and stage directing. In 1983-84 he founded the nationally and internationally acclaimed theatre company “Diplous Eros,” which was later renamed “Theseum Ensemble.” Since then and over the course of 30 years, numerous productions were created and performed at the National Theatre of Greece in Athens, the National Theatre of Northern Greece in Thessaloniki, the Onassis Foundation, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, Volksbühne on Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, Berlin, Tumanishvili Teater in Tbilisi, Georgia, Wrocławski Teatr Współczesny in Wroclaw, Poland and Comédie-Française in Paris, France, among others.
He also worked as a director or was invited to festivals in countries such as Austria, Belgium, China, France, Georgia, Germany, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, and Venezuela. Michail Marmarinos collaborated in international co-productions with Albrecht Hirche, Heiner Goebbels, Rimini Protokoll, VeenFabriek in the Netherlands, Paul Koek and, as part of the Athens Epidaurus Festival, the Japanese Noh theatre group NOH/Nekyia.
He is a member of the International Heiner Müller Society and the International Bioenergetic Analysis Institute. He was president of the Greek organization of the ITI (International Theatre Institute) from 2006 to 2009. He was awarded the Mikhail Tumanishvili Prize in Tbilisi, Georgia, and the title of the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French Ministry of Culture. He has been awarded many times for his work, most recently he received the Guest Performance Prize by the German Federal Agency for Civic Education. He was the president of the Board of Directors of the International Theatre Institute of UNESCO (Greek Section).
He is a faculty member at the university departments of Theatre Studies in Patras and Nafplion and has been an assistant professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, since 2006. In 2020 he was appointed general artistic director at the 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture.
Thomas Moschopoulos
He was born in 1965 in Bitola, North Macedonia and grew up in Thessaloniki. He studied English literature, theatre and cinema in Greece and Italy. He has directed contemporary and classical plays at the Theatre of Notos (Amore), of which he was the artistic director with Giannis Chouvardas. He has also collaborated with the National Theatre of Greece, the National Theatre of Northern Greece, the Athens Epidaurus Festival, the Athens Concert Hall, the Onassis Foundation etc.
In recent years he has been systematically directing performances at the Porta Theatre, where he has presented, among others, many plays for children that he has written either alone or in collaboration with Xenia Kalogeropoulou.
For the last ten years he has been collaborating steadily with important theatres in Canada. He was a member of the artistic team of the Olympic Games closing ceremony (Athens, 2004). He has directed opera performances in Greece and Italy, documentaries, video clips and television films. He has presented radio shows on the Third Program (ERT), he has taught in drama schools, academies and universities in Greece, Italy, Montenegro, South Africa and Canada, and his work has been awarded many times in Greece and abroad. In 2023 he was elected assistant professor in the Theatre Department of the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Konstantinos Boumpoukis
He was born in Athens. He graduated from the School of Physical Education and Sport Science (TEFAA) of the Kapodistrian University of Athens with a specialization in fencing (1994) and from the Drama School of the National Theatre (1995). For many years he was the Greek champion and a member of the national fencing team. He is the director of the High School of the Greek section of the Hellenic-French School “Eugene Delacroix”.
As an actor and mainly as a teacher of theatrical fencing he has collaborated with the National Theatre, the National Opera, the Athens Concert Hall, the Athens Epidaurus Festival, the Contemporary Theatre of Athens, the Municipal Regional Theatres od Roumeli, Ioannina, Kozani, Agrinio, Kavala and Kalamata, and with the theatres Pantheon, Pallas, Athens, Kappa, Porta, Mikri Porta, Rialto, Tzeni Karezi, Diana, Minoa, Kivotos, Egnatia, Anesis, Amiral, Angelon Vima, Thision, Gloria. He has also collaborated with the Municipal Theatre of Kallithea, the Municipality of Heraklion of Crete, the Municipality of Marathon (opening ceremonies of the Marathon of Athens), the Foundation of the Hellenic World and Michael Cacoyannis Foundation. He has also collaborated with ΤV channels (Mega, Alpha).
He has worked in the films Tu Honoreras ta Mère et ta Mère by Brigitte Rouan, Back Door by Giorgos Tsemberopoulos, The Belly of the Bee by Vassilis Eleftheriou and Roz Olotahos by Dimitris Giatzouzakis.
He teaches theatrical fencing at the Drama School of the National Theatre and at the theatres Modern Times and Veaki. He has also taught at the drama schools Athenian Stage, Delos, Contemporary Theatre of Athens, Athens Conservatoire, Iasmos and “Vassilis Diamantopoulos”.
Giannis Ntalianis
He was born in Athens and studied at the Department of Physics of the University of Athens. He continued his studies at the Drama School of the People’s Experimental Theatre, at the Drama School of Pelos Katselis and at the Ancient Drama Centre of Aspasia Papathanasiou.

Agoritsa Oikonomou
She graduated from the Drama School of Athens “G. Theodosiadis” (2001). In theatre she collaborated with directors: G. Moschos, G. Niarros, V. Papavasileiou, G. Papageorgiou, Od. Papaspiliopoulos, El. Skoti, G. Kakleas, M. Protopappa, L. Meleme, St. Fasoulis, E. Theodorou, Ap. Papatheocharis, N. Karathanos, P. Zoulias, S. Chatzakis, Martha Frintzila, D. Lignadis, D. Chronopoulos, G. Lapatas et al. in performances of the National Theatre of Greece, the National Theatre of Northern Greece, Municipal and Regional Theatres of Larissa and Crete, and private theatres.
In cinema she acted in the movies: The Murderess (Fonissa) by E. Nathena (2022), The Bachelor by A. Sotiropoulos (2016), Ap’ ta Kokala Vgalmeni by S. Gkoritsas (2010), Gas by Bujar Alimani (2007). She also played in the TV series Kato Partali (Mega).
She won first prize for a female role at the Athinorama Audience Awards for her performance in the play The Queen of Beauty by M. McDonna, directed by E. Skoti (2020). In recent years she has been teaching at drama schools.
Melina Peonidou
She was born in Cyprus. Upon finishing her upper secondary education in Cyprus, she was awarded a scholarship to the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she studied for six years, graduating with a Master of Arts in choral conducting in 1991. She also participated in several masterclasses and seminars in choral conducting by the famous German conductor Helmuth Rilling, in Germany and the USA.
In 1993 she was invited to work at the National Radio Choir of Greece by the Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis. In 1995 she joined the National Theatre of Greece as a vocal coach. She has considerable experience at teaching music, musical curation and vocal coaching.
She has collaborated with numerous directors and composers on over one hundred plays and musicals, as well as on thirty-five ancient tragedies and comedies staged at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus.
Viky Panagiotaki
She was born in 1964. She studied history and archeology (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), classical – contemporary dance (Higher Professional School of Dance D. Grigoriadou), pedagogy of theatre and play (Universität der Künste, Berlin) and Alexander Technique (Ausbildungszentrum für F.M. Alexander-Technik, Berlin) under the direction of Daniel McGowan. She was trained in the Body Control system based on the teachings of J. Pilates and has attended intensive seminars in improvisation, body-mind centering, as well as Butoh with Masaki Iwana.
She taught dance – movement – improvisation at Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK), Ufa-Fabrik Berlin, European School Staatliche Europaschule Berlin (SESB) and Alexander Technique at Dock 11 Berlin, at the Drama School of the National Theatre and at the schools Contemporary Theatre of Athens, Modern Times, Delos, Theatre of Changes, New York Acting Studio, Acting Anatomy Studio, Exercise Workshop, New Hellenic Theatre, while since 2016 she has been collaborating with the Dance House of Limassol. She has presented the Alexander Technique in academic program studies (Department of Music Studies, University of Macedonia, and Department of Pedagogy and Primary Education, postgraduate program, University of Athens). She has taught and applied the Alexander Technique in the context of theatrical performances by F.P Steckel, L. Giovanidis, L. Filippova, E. Lygizos, A. Pantazaras, G. Kimoulis, Ch. Fragoulis, S. Goulioti, G. Onisiforos and A. Constantinou.
In 2020 she founded the ATCA certified centre for the training of Alexander Technique for teachers in Greece.

She was born (accidentally) in Patras, grew up pretty much everywhere, but she comes from Ioannina. She completed her basic education in France (Externat Saint-Louis). She studied at the Drama School “Arhi” and LISPA (London International School of Performing Arts), where she completed with scholarship the pedagogical training program. She joined the faculty as a professor and taught in London and Berlin. She is a founding member of Patari Project, a physical theatre company based in Athens, for which she directed the performances: 10cm up, Odyssey, Bal on air, Shoe Catcher on the Piano, Nose, Chionani, Theogony, A Great Feast (Athens Epidaurus Festival), Four Seasons – based on Vivaldi’s famous violin concertos (Greek National Opera). She has also directed the performances: Seesaw (National Theatre of Greece), Τhe Slave (Porta Theatre, co-direction with Thomas Moschopoulos), Mute (Neos Kosmos Theatre), Who Discover America? Roula Pateraki
She studied theatre at the Kyriazis Charatzaris Drama School. She was a member of her teacher’s professional theatre group (Free Theatre). She graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (English Literature – School of Philosophy).
She founded the Dramatic Art Review in Thessaloniki (drama school – professional theatre group, 1978-85). With it she directed and acted in plays by Ibsen (Hedda Gabler), Beckett, Stoppard, Brecht, et al.
She founded the Roula Pateraki Drama Theatre in Athens (1990) and staged plays by Beckett, Genet, Strindberg, Dostoyevsky, Kane, Bernhard, Proust, Christomanos, Dimitriadis, Panou, Veltsos, Feiss, Lambrakis, et al.
She founded the Greyblue Gap and Meta-theatre (2019) and staged the original dramaturgies Ealo Thessaloniki (2021) & There will Βe an Exchange (2022). Konstantina Pitsiakou
She graduated from the Music Department of the University of Cardiff (Wales). She studied teaching methodology, choir conducting, classical singing and piano at the Zoltan Kodály International Pedagogical Institute of the Franz Liszt Academy (Keszkämet, Hungary) on a scholarship of the Kodály International Society. She also studied monody (diploma) with Christina Giannakopoulou.
She has collaborated with the Patras Contemporary Music Ensemble and the String Quartet of the Municipal Conservatory of Patras, while she has given concerts with the early music ensembles Ex Silentio and Os Orphicum. She has collaborated with GNO Alternative Stage’s Choir, the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation and the Chamber Choir of the Municipal Conservatory of Patras. She is a founding member of the vocal enseble Equábili.
She has taught at the Municipal Conservatory of Patras, where she created and conducted the children’s choir and student vocal ensembles and at the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Patras. She has given lectures in Cyprus about the Kodály method of music education. She teaches at the Drama Schools of the National Theatre. Since September 2017 she has been in charge of the direction and musical preparation of the Children’s Chorus of Greek National Opera, members of which have performed in more than 20 productions as well as in numerous concerts and events at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Stavros Niarchos Hall, GNO Alternative Stage, the Athens Concert Hall. Many of them were broadcast on television (ERT, Mezzo and GNO TV).
Dimitris Polychroniadis
He is a set designer, architect and visual artist. He has studied architecture at the University of Greenwich with a postgraduate degree on urban design and visual arts (Athens School of Fine Arts). He has collaborated with the National Theatre of Greece, the National Opera, the Athens-Epidaurus Festival, the Greek Art Theatre Karolos Koun, the Theatre of Kefallinias, the National Theatre of Northern Greece etc.
He has received an award by the Athinorama magazine, and (together with Dimitris Mavrikios) the Karolos Koun Prize for the dramaturgy of the play Monstrous Masterpiece (Athens Epidaurus Festival, 2009). As a visual artist, he has held two solo exhibitions in Thessaloniki and he has participated in a series of group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. He has been teaching the set design/costume design course for the past five years in drama schools.
Evi Saoulidou
She was born in Kavala. She studied at the Drama School of the National Theatre of Northern Greece.
As an actress she has collaborated with the National Theatre of Greece, the Greek Art Theatre Karolos Koun, the Onassis Foundation, the Skrow Theatre, the Roes Theatre, the Theatre Odou Kykladon, the National Theatre of Northern Greece, the Megaron Music Hall, the New Stage of Lefteris Vogiatzis, the Municipal Regional Theatre of Patras, the Aliki Theatre. She has also collaborated with the directors: G. Perlegkas, G. Moschos, D. Karantzas, A. Xafis, G. Kakleas, N. Mastorakis, V. Arditis, Th. Moumoulidis, I. Voulgaraki, St. Fasoulis, St. Livathinos, A. Chioti, Th. Dovris, G. Koutlis and others. She was the winner of the Melina Merkouri Theatre Award in 2007 for the performance Bella Venezia directed by L. Vogiatzis.

Petros Sevastikoglou
He was born in Moscow. He studied sociology in Paris and film directing in the USA. He directed the feature films The Rumble of the World, Electra, Attractive Illusion, Three Moments, Wind Over the City, as well as documentaries for the national television. He directed theatrical performances for the National Theatre of Greece, National Theatre of Northern Greece, private productions in Greece and abroad (Belgium, France, China, Poland).
He taught film directing in the postgraduate course of the School of Fine Arts and at the School of Film of the Aristotle University. He teaches acting and film directing at the Drama School of the National Theatre.
Angeliki Stelatou
She was born in Athens in 1963. She graduated from the National School of Dance with honors in 1986 and continued her studies at the Merce Cunningham Studio in New York with a scholarship from the Onassis Foundation. At the same time, she attended Contact Improvisation and Release Techniques seminars with K.J. Holmes, Jeremy Nelson, Daniel Lepkoff, Sarah Pearsons, Sarah Rudner et al.
In 1987 she co-founded the group Edafos Dance Theatre with Dimitris Papaioannou. She received a Greek State accolade for her solo performance Steps (part of the Edafos Dance Theatre work Human Thirst). She has collaborated with various dance groups: Sine Qua Non, Analia, amorphy.org, Z. Nikoloudis’ Chorika and others. In 2016, she danced the solo After Party and in 2019 she danced in the performance YOU by Ermira Goro. As a choreographer, she has collaborated with the Theatre of Neos Kosmos, the National Theatre of Greece, the Athens Concert Hall, the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Larissa, Embros Theatre, Aplo Theatre, etc. She won the Koula Pratsika Prize for her choreographic work on Motortown, directed by Vangelis Theodoropoulos. She was the head choreographer of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
She has been teaching improvisation to professionals and amateurs since 1998. She was a member of the teaching staff at the Rallou Manou Professional School (2013-16), responsible for the choreography course. From 2016 to 2022 she teaches the same course at the professional dance school Aktina. Since 2018 she teaches movement improvisation at the Drama School of the National Theatre.
Christos Stergioglou
He was born in Didymoteicho. He graduated from Drama School of the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki and continued his studies at the HB Studio in New York.
He has collaborated with important directors in plays of foreign and Greek repertoire, as well as ancient drama.
He directed Aeschylus’ The Suppliants at the Athens Epidaurus Festival, as well as performances in theatres in Athens and Thessaloniki.
He acted in noted films in Greece and abroad and received the following awards: Best Actor, Thessaloniki International Film Festival (The Eternal Return of Antonis Paraskevas, 2013 by Elina Psykou), Best Supporting Actor, Hellenic Film Academy (Unfair World, 2011 by Filippos Tsitos), Best Supporting Actor, Ministry of Culture (False Alarm, 2006 by Katerina Evangelakou), Best Actor, Thessaloniki International Film Festival (Hard Goodbyes: My father, 2002 by Penny Panagiotopoulou & Think it Over, 2002 by Katerina Evangelakou), Best Actor, Greece International Film Festival (A La Carte, 2022 by Taxiarchis Deligiannis & Vasilis Tsiouvaras), Transylvania Shorts IFF, Jury Award of recognition (IVAN, 2018 by Panagiotis Kountouras). He starred in Dogtooth by Yorgos Lanthimos (Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film 2011). He acted in the British TV comedy Stath Lets Flats which aired in Channel 4 and won 3 BAFTA TV Awards.
He has taught at the Drama School of the National Theatre, National Theatre of Northern Greece, Athens Conservatoire and private drama schools.
Chrysi Tzardi
She was born in Chania. She studied at the Law School of the University of Athens. She was a member of the dance group of the Lyceum Club of Greek Women (1978-2001). She has been teaching traditional dances at the Lyceum Club of Greek Women since 1982 and at the Drama School of the National Theatre since 1987.
Syllas Tzoumerkas
He was born in 1978 in Thessaloniki. He grew up in Thessaloniki, Kilkis and Nisyros. His feature films Homeland (2010), A Blast (2014) and The Miracle of the Sargasso Sea (co-directed with Ch. Passalis, 2019) had their world premieres in the Venice, Locarno and Berlin International Film Festivals. The films participated in festivals around the world and were released in cinemas and streaming platforms in many countries.
He co-wrote the scripts of Argyris Papadimitropoulos’ Suntan (2016) and All This Victory by Ahmad Ghossein (2019). He played in the films Wasted Youth, Suntan and Monday by Argyris Papadimitropoulos, The Eternal Return of Antonis Paraskevas by Elina Psykou, etc.
In theatre and in multi-platform works he collaborated with Onassis Foundation, Athens Epidaurus Festival, the Greek National Opera, Thessaloniki Festival, the blitz theatre group, Youla Boudali, etc. He co-curated with Elina Psykou the program of study, screening and digital restoration of films of the Greek Film Academy «Motherland, I See You – The 20th Century of Greek Cinema» (2021-22). In April 2023 he curated the festival Panigiri – Live Cinema, Working Class, Sirens in Eleusis, European Capital of Culture 2023.
Joanna Toumpakari
She was born in Athens. She graduated with distinction from the National School of Dance in 2011 and continued her studies in London Contemporary Dance School. She has collaborated with various choreographers and directors in performances in Greece and abroad. Among others with: Antonis Foniadakis, Konstantinos Rigos, Efi Birmpa, Giannis Kakleas, Aris Biniaris, Markella Manoliadi, Marianna Kavallieratos, Lenio Kaklea, Yelp dance group, Prosxima dance company, Zita dance company, Nova Melancholia, Apostolia Papadamaki, Kostas Tsioukas, Harry Koushos.
She holds a black belt in traditional wushu kung fu and a coach certificate from the Ministry of Sports. She has won a gold medal at the Chinese Wrestling World Championships held in Italy in 2016. Since September 2020 she has been the head coach at the Inner Fist Sports Club, where she teaches the traditional styles Ching Yi, Tai Chi, Bagua Zhang, Eagle Claw, as well as Chinese Wrestling and Santa.
Athina Trevlia
She was born in Thessaloniki. She studied speech therapy in Technological Educational Institute of Patras (2004) and continued her studies gaining a Master of Arts Degree in Voice by the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, University of London (2006). She also holds the IPA Certificate in English Phonetics & Phonology from University College London in collaboration with the International Phonetics Association (2007). She has been trained by certified voice practitioners in internationally acclaimed training and voice therapy methods such as Estill Voice Training©, Linklater Voice Training and Lieberman’s Laryngeal Manipulation Protocol.
Since 2006 she has been working as a voice therapist, voice teacher and voice coach, on one-to-one client basis. She has also been training and coaching groups through group lessons and seminars. She has taught voice technique to actors, singers, teachers, announcers, lawyers, chanters, call center operators and business executives. She teaches voice and speech in the Drama School of the National Theatre (2009-15, 2019-present) and Athens Conservatory Drama School (2015-present). Athina Trevlia, as a certified speech & language trainer (since 2004) has been practicing speech therapy in various clinics and has been teaching courses on developmental speech & language disorders as an academic tutor in nationally acknowledged universities such as Department of Speech and Language Therapy of the University of Patras and Aegean College, Athens. She has also been voice therapist and founding member of Athens Voice & Swallowing Centre, the first specialized voice & swallowing clinic in Greece (2010-15).
Kostas Philippoglou
He is an actor, director and theatre teacher. He started his theatre studies in Athens and continued his education with actors – teachers from Europe, exploring the physical – creative theatre.
In 1986 he started working as an actor in Greece. He has collaborated with the Technochoros theatre of Giannis Kakleas, the Amore theatre and Giannis Chouvardas, the Porta theatre, the Athens Epidaurus Festival, the National Theatre of Greece etc.
From 1999 to 2013 he worked mainly abroad with the theatrical group Complicité. He acted in performances and workshops given in England, Europe and USA. He has performed at the National Theatre of London, at Peter Brooke’s theatre Bouffes du Nord and on world tours in New York.
Since 2013 he has been directing in Greece the plays: Paper Flowers, Tirza, Mengele, Historia de un Amor or Ants, The Seagull, The Inspector, Miss Julia, Black Snow, etc.
In the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, he has directed the plays: Prometheus Bound by Aeschylus, The Frogs by Aristophanes and Philoctetes by Sophocles.
He teaches theatre in schools, seminars and in the postgraduate study program of the Department of Theatre Studies of Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Lena Filippova
She was born and raised in Russia. She studied at the Kyiv State Theatre Institute. She graduated with honors and obtained the title “Master of Fine Arts”. She attended five seminar cycles with the Russian director Anatoly Vasiliev.
She started working in the USSR as an actress and director. Coming to Greece, she learned the Greek language at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and studied at the Law School of the same university. She has directed more than 30 performances. She collaborated with the Georgian director Robert Sturua and the choreographer Giorgi Aleksidze. She co-wrote the script for the film In Castellorizo directed by Antonis Papadopoulos. The film was distinguished at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival in France and won the State Prize of the Ministry of Culture in Greece.
In 2002 she founded the theatre group “Itho” and directed the performances: Krotkaya by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Rehearsal based on the plays of August Strindberg and Per Olov Enquist, Equation I. Ordinary People based on a chapter from F. Dostoyevsky’s The Idiot, Suzannah by Jon Fosse, On the Marionette Theatre by Heinrich von Kleist, Plato’s Ion, The Lover by Harold Pinter.
She has taught acting at the University of Peloponnese, as well as acting, improvisation and text analysis at the Drama Schools Arhi, Modern Theatre, Modern Times, Delos et al. She has delivered several seminars funded by the European Union, as well as a series of seminars “K. S. Stanislavski System” at the Hellenic American Union. She is a professor of acting at the Drama School of the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Patras and at the Drama School of the National Theatre of Greece.
Nikos Chatzopoulos
He was born in Piraeus. He graduated from the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens. He studied theatre at the Veaki Drama School. Since 1984 he has been working continuously as an actor in performances from the entire spectrum of the repertoire; he had more stable collaborations with the theatre company New Stage of Lefteris Vogiatzis, the Theatre Amore and the National Theatre of Greece.
Since 2002 he has been pursuing a parallel directing career. He has directed 25 performances, mainly for Athens Epidaurus Festival, Theatre Amore, Greek Art Theatre Karolos Koun and the National Theatre of Greece. He also collaborated with the theatres: Porta, Kefallinias, Sfendoni, Theseum, Dimitris Horn, Apo Michanis, Onassis Foundation. He was twice nominated for the “Fotos Politis” Directing Award of the Theatre Museum. He has translated plays by Shakespeare, Guillermo Calderon, Pierre Marivaux, Eugène Marin Labiche, Tennessee Williams, J.K. Oates, Paula Vogel, David Gregg and Mike Kenny.
From 2003 he started teaching acting in drama schools. He teaches acting at the Drama School of National Theatre of Greece.
Argiro Chioti
She was born in Athens. She graduated from the Drama School “Morphes” of Theatre Embros (2000). She holds a degree in theatre studies and a Master 2 in directing and dramaturgy from the University of Provence in France (2006).
She works in Greece and France as a director and actress. In 2005 she co-founded the Vasistas theatre group. She is interested in stage forms that lean to poetry, with intense dance and bodily expression, often creating music choreographies in present time which focus on humans and being part of a social group.
Her most recent stage directions include: Big and Small Ships by Efthymis Filippou (2023 Eleusis, European Capital of Culture), Erotokritos by Vizentzos Kornaros (National Theatre of Northern Greece), Halepas by The Boy (Onassis Foundation, co-production with Emilia Romagna Teatro Fondazone, Italy), The Frogs by Aristophanes (Athens Epidaurus Festival), Eau de Cologne by Efthymis Filippou (National Theatre of Greece).
Martha Foka
Martha Foka is a mask maker, set and costume designer. She graduated with honors from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (School of Drama). In 2009 she participated in the international workshop “Art of the mask at Commedia dell’arte”, directed by Donato Sartori in Padova, Italy. She has collaborated with National Theatre of Greece, National Theatre of Northern Greece, National Opera, Thessalian Theatre, Cyprus Theatre Organization, Black Box Theatre (Holstebro, Denmark) etc. She has also collaborated with Athens Epidaurus Festival, Kypria Festival, UTE Festival (Rumania), Festival fur aktuelles musiktheater an sieben orten (Tirol, Austria) etc.
She has worked with directors and choreographers such as Simos Kakalas, Michail Marmarinos, Giannis Rigas, Anna Kokkinou, Kyriaki Spanou, Konstantinos Ntellas, Rimini Protokoll, Angelos Frantzis, Fotis Nikolaou, Antonis Foniadakis et al. She teaches the art of mask making in drama schools and festivals.
