Then they studied methods by which a theatre performance can be made accessible to people with disability in a creative and organic way without an after-the-fact Accessibility Service. The masterclass was attended by Liminal\u2019s collaborators Zoi Xanthopoulou and Olga Dalekou (founding member of the Deaf Theatre Group \u201cCrazy Colors\u201d and sign language teacher at the KET Sign Language School). Theatrologist and director Tzortzina Kakoudaki participated as masterclass assistant.<\/p>\n July, 2023<\/em><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Acting and Directing the Song” _builder_version=”4.23″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” open=”off”]<\/p>\n Professor of directing and associate head of the School of Performance and Cultural Industries at the University of Leeds George Rodosthenous taught a masterclass with music composer Dimitris Zavros.<\/p>\n The group explored the nature and limitations of a solo performance \u2013 be it a song in a larger theatrical event, or a cabaret performance \u2013 but also the function of performance with non-verbal narratives. The use of music as exclusive text and the creation of a narrative without the use of words was the main stimulus for the creation of a short scene. The group focused on the use of hands through \u201chand choreographies\u201d and explored how music and text create images.
